Should I prefer Branch or College

Friday, June 11, 2010

Well the two question which comes in mind of every student is what should I prefer first, that is, should I go for college and choose Branch or I should stick with the branch and select college accordingly.

Being an Engineer I must suggest you that in todays scenario you should prefer College over branch and there is reason for that. In MP most of the company which came for campus recruitment are not CORE companies, most of them are IT Companies (Software + BPO + KPO etc), these company recruits everyone no matter what your branch is, in their view EX, EC, ME, CIVIL are all same.

The difference came when you are in Top college, suppose you are in MITS Gwalior or SGITS or RGTU than I would say that you must go with the Core branches, as these colleges bring almost all type of companies, so here your Interest must be the basis of selecting the branch.

For those who want a simple answer here is list the top branches in descending order-

  1. Civil
  2. Electronics
  3. Mechnical
  4. Computer Science
  5. Information Technology

But, I would like to add that there is nothing in Engg. called Top branch, its just you and your knowledge that matters. Be sure what you select because it will decide your FUTURE, I am here to help you out, if you have any doubts please feel free to ask your question.
